Not what you expected, I know.

Well, here we are. Day fourteen. I think that's got to be some kind of record, because I'm pretty sure none of my other blogs have had this many posts.... I don't know about the first one though, because I deleted it. I'm just going to assume it had less, and, regardless, I've almost certainly not done this many in a row, daily, before.

Anyway, you were probably thinking I would do the rest of my list and all that, but, well, yeah. See, the thing is, it's nine o'clock. Aaaand I don't really feel like pulling that whole thing together, so, I dunno. I'm gonna do something else. I just don't know what yet. And, you know, that's probably a bad thing, because I want to have this thing posted before ten.

And, I let this sit here for a while, and it's nine-thirty. Still no ideas. Well, I may have to just call this a post and be done with it. Sorry, but at least this is a post. It's not much of one, but hey. It's got words... it's in my blog.... It's a post. Wait, hey. I guess I did think of one thing.

So I got to thinking how people always have these expectations, and when they aren't met, they get mad. I'm mostly thinking of books, TV, movies, video games, and stuff like that.... Well, mostly video games. Anyway, people want something to be just like they expected it, but then it turns out it's not, and it upsets them. Now, there are times when this is understandable. For instance, this post. You probably thought it was going to be a lot longer and posted a lot earlier. It turns out it's really short and it got posted quite late. Still, there are some other things where it just ends up being different, but not worse. Just different. For example, the latest Zelda game, Phantom Hourglass for the DS. It's totally different; it's fully touch-controlled, and it has those cell-shaded graphics Wind Waker had that everyone liked to hate for no reason. I'm sure there are tons of people that aren't going to even give Hourglass a try, just because it's not the Zelda they're used to. That's really too bad, because it's not only an excellent game, but it is Zelda. Actually, it's probably one of the most Zelda-y. IF you have a DS, you should really get it. If you're a Zelda fan, you should get a DS and then get Hourglass. If you're not a Zelda fan, you should get both anyway, and then check out the other hundred excellent games there are for the DS. Anyway, back to the more generic topic of unexpected things. Honestly, these days, unexpected things excite me. I really like it when people throw a surprise at you, and it turns out to be really cool. Other fun things are, maybe not just surprises, but different things. This is another thing that shows up in video games more than maybe anything else. Nowadays everything falls into genres with video games, like "platformer" or "RPG" or "strategy game." What's really cool is when a game comes along that fits into multiple categories, or none at all. A lot of the games I have for my DS are really different, fun, and refreshing, and I always look for more like that as they come along. Anyway, even besides video games, there are just everyday surprises that are interesting. Like when an event is planned for a while, and then the people in charge decide "Actually, we're not going to do this, we're going to try something else." That's disappointing at first, isn't it? But it shouldn't be, because a lot of times it turns out to be something really neat.

Anyway, that's my post for today. Short and vague, but at least it's something, right?

...Short, but a post nonetheless...
